You
Get What You Pay For
Most
good video guys aren't cheap, don't even bother
with quotes of less than $1,000.
Most
weddings go for about 10 h ours minimum and most
video guys cost around $150 per hour, that means
an average should be $1,500.
Meet
The Person, See The Tape
Make
sure the video demo you are watching was filmed by
the person who will be videoing on the day. Easy
to put a 'ritzy' demo together to show someone and
then send a novice cameraman on the
day.
Shortlist
Those Whom You See and of Whom You've Heard
If
you see the same video companies in all the bridal
mags, and the bridal expos and on most of the web
pages... there's a reason, THEY ARE GOOD AND
PROFESSIONAL! Dont risk someone you've never heard
of just because they are cheaper.
Videographers
Are Not Mind Readers
Tell
them what you what the finished tape to look like.
If you dont like the way they have edited the
video, or the music used, it is because you
probably didn't give them a feel of what you
wanted. Write down a script or list of wants and
give it to them well ahead of the wedding so they
know how they should film the wedding... candid,
classical, mushy, fun etc.
Be
Patient
Don't
hassle the video people on the day or
afterwards... let them produce their magic in
their own time. |
