Q.  We have started receiving wedding gifts.  Can I open them now or do I have to wait until after the wedding?--Aiken, SC

A.   You can open the gifts that arrive at your home as soon as you get them.  The gifts that you receive on your wedding day should be opened after you get home....less confusion.  After the wedding, the gifts need to be transported to either your new home or your parents.  When you return from your honeymoon, you and your husband can sit down together and open them.  Remember to make a list of what you got and from who so you can write your Thank You notes!

Q.  What is a good idea for a bridesmaids gift? --Columbia, SC

A.  I gave my bridesmaids silver earrings and a silver charm bracelett with a "To My Bridesmaid" charm on it with the date on the back. That I wanted them to wear in the wedding.   It has been six years now, they have told me that they have added many charms to it.  Some other ideas are:  perfume, jewelry box, a book, a gift cert. to a spa for a massage, candles...just think of what each girl likes...

Q.  What is a good idea for my groom to give his groomsmen? --Columbia, SC

A.  A key ring, money clip, business card holder with initials engraved, a date book, a pen set, golf balls, a tool set...the list is endless.
