Q.  Do I have to provide the dinnerware or does the caterer?--Greer, SC
A.  When you first meet with the caterers, you need to ask them if they include silverware and china.  Some caterers do, but the dishes maybe chipped.  You should ask to see samples and make sure the dishes compliment your wedding decor.  If they do not provide the dishes, you can rent them.

Q.  Is it necessary to sign a Service Contract with my caterer?--Georgetown, SC
A.  Heck Yeah!  You are spending a lot of money...you need to protect yourself, girl!  SIGN!!!!  Read over the fine print!

Q.  My budget for my wedding is $20,000.  How much should I allow for the food and drinks?--Hilton Head, SC
A.  You lucky Girl!!!!  Food, drinks and service will take up about 45% of your budget...Your food bill is the LARGEST part of any wedding budget.  Choose your caterer carefully.  Get references and sample some food!

Q.  What kind of questions do I need to ask the caterer before I hire the one I want?--Anderson, SC
A.  You need to talk about your budget, tell them the style of your reception that you want (sit down dinner, buffet, food stations, etc...), and the type of food that you want served.  You ALWAYS want to sample some of their food.  Look at the presentation of the dish...that is important also.  Get at least 2-3 references and call them.

Q.  Do I need to feed the other vendors?--Sumter, SC
A.  Call your vendors (photographer, videographer, coordinator, DJ or Band) and find out if they want a meal.  Some vendors make it a rule not to eat when working...but some may...especially the band.  When you give the final count to your caterer, let them know that "9" meals will be vendor meals...many times they are cheaper.

Q.  How do I figure out how many servers to ask for to serve dinner for my sit down dinner reception?--Charleston, SC
A.  One server to every 8 to 10 guests should do it, but discuss this with the caterer or the reception facility..they will know exactly.
